About The Course

100-Hour Mindful Yoga Teacher Training with Jonathan Weber

Integrating Mindfulness and Compassion into Yoga Practice as Transformative and Therapeutic Elements

This is an ongoing training program focused on how to integrate mindfulness and compassion as transformative and therapeutic tools into yoga asana. In this training, we will explore the intersection of Buddhist and classical yoga traditions with the findings of Western science and psychology to achieve optimal well-being.

Through the therapeutic tools of mindful yoga, you can learn to release unhealthy stress and psychological distress, develop greater acceptance, kindness, and clarity, and increase your resilience and positive responses to challenges. The emphasis of this training is on how difficulty or discomfort can be transformed into greater awareness, lightness, and balance in both the body and mind.

The program covers both the theory and practice of sitting meditation and a mindful approach to postures. Meditation is the foundation of yoga practice, yet it is rarely taught or understood deeply in modern yoga training. This program delves into how to bring greater awareness to meditation practice and yoga asana and movement, exploring the depths of finding meditation in motion. Ultimately, we learn how to live our yoga practice, realizing greater inner peace and balance.

The training will be led by Jonathan Weber. All sessions will be conducted by Jonathan and simultaneously translated by a professional interpreter.

The 100-hour training will consist of 6 modules, held approximately one month apart. Between modules, participants will complete at-home practice assignments, which are an essential part of the training. All participants will receive a Mindful Yoga Training Guide along with meditation recordings and practice materials.

What is Mindful Yoga?

Mindful yoga is a blend of mindfulness and yoga, also known as mindfulness-based yoga. It integrates mindfulness meditation practices with yoga postures and movement as a holistic mind-body approach to health and well-being. Mindful yoga is an effective, evidence-based practice that allows you to rest in the present moment, gain the benefits of a therapeutic approach to yoga practice, and develop a compassionate response to your experiences. It brings clarity and insight to your current state, promotes deep relaxation and stress reduction, and encourages beneficial attitudes such as increased self-awareness and self-compassion.

Mindful yoga combines ancient Buddhist and classical yoga traditions with modern research in neuroscience, psychology, and physical therapy to foster greater balance and well-being. It draws inspiration from pioneers such as Jon Kabat-Zinn, who helped popularize modern mindfulness through MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction).
